Description

A pamphlet from the Day & Night Solar Heater Company, Los Angeles, date stamped 22 August 1921. The item promotes the solar heating panels for hot water manufactured by the company, which had its offices in downtown Los Angeles and a factory, opened in 1913, in Monrovia. Text describes the product and there are many accompanying photos showing the units at Exposition Park, a hotel at Avalon on Santa Catalina Island, and homes in Monrovia, Altadena and South Pasadena. There are also drawings of a water heater, the coil syste, and how the system works in a house. The system appears similar to one used by Walter Temple at both La Casa Nueva and the Workman House shortly afterward. With the date stamp, an ink identification number (both at the top of the front panel,) light soiling, minor rubbing and creases, the overall condition is good.
