Description

A panorama of a portion of the Hollywoodland tract, Los Angeles, ca. 1924. The view is taken from a hillside, evidently at the back of a canyon and looks down at a road curving up the hill and several houses in construction or completed. The architecture seems to be of French provincial, English cottage and Spanish colonial styles. In addition to the home sites, there are open spaces on hill sides and, in the distance, the plains of Hollywood below. On the reverse is a label from John D. Roche, Inc. and a pencil inscription of dimensions. With heavy warping, edge tears and losses, creases, soiling and abrasions, the condition is fair.
