Description

A paper explaining what it to happen to Lot 11 in tract 2472. ca. May 1914. Lot 11 was bought by O.M. Finch and his mom, Lucy Mae Finch. They sold the property to Jason J. Ortega who in turn sold it to Dr. W.E. Smith. Smith bought the 5.70 acres for $900 and acre, coming to $5130 total. Mr. Finch owes two payments on the property. One for $913.60 and another for $2740.80, or a total of $3654.40. Dr. Smith has agreed to pay this amount to Mr. Ortega, which will be deducted from his total due of $5130. An additional $25 will be taken off the amount that Dr. Smith owes, since he already paid this to Mr. Ortega as a good faith payment. The amount Dr. Smith still owes is $1450.60. Jason J. Ortega is to pay $513.60 to cover the payment due now on the Finch lot. Mr. Orgeta has left a check for $660.50 for O.M. Finch and Lucy Mae Finch, which is to be delivered when they pay money owed to the Whittier Extension Company. They owe $109.39 in interest, $2.10 in taxes, $10.47 in water and $10.00 in labor. They also owe $360 to Mr. Dishman for 480 lemon trees, and $19.12 in interest. The $131.96 owed to the Whittier Extension Company and the $379.12 owed to Mr. Dishman will be deducted from the $660.50 left by Mr. Ortega, meaning a check for $149.42 will be sent to O.M. Finch and Lucy Mae Finch for the sale of their property. There are creases from the letter being folded, a fold of the bottom left corner, warping on the left side, and an acid burn on the top half.
