2013.487.1.1Description
A cabinet card photo of a family in front of a Los Angeles house, 3 December 1904. The view, taken from the street, shows a man, woman and two children, the woman and a baby are on a chair and the others standing, in front of a house with a very unusual steeply-pitched tall triangular shaped roof. Two trees at the sidewalk median obscure much of the residence. At the bottom in pencil is "Ida Emmett / Roswell & Roberta / Dec. 3 1904" and then "Winter spent in Los Angeles," with the last meaning the family wintered in the city. On the reverse are many pencil marks, including calcuations, scribbles, and others. With the image having moderate fading, the matte foxed, creased, soiled and bumped, the overall condition is fair.Lexicon
