Description
A photo of the Central Building, Los Angeles, American Photo Service Inc., 3 September 1924. The image is taken from an upper level of the Santa Fe Building and shows the north and east elevations of the height-limit, 11-story structure, completed in March 1908 at the southwest corner of Main and 6th streets, including signage for anchor tenant the Hellman Commercial Trust and Savings Bank. The edifice was razed in 1968 and a parking lot is there now. On the reverse is a brief description, date, and stamps from the publisher and Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce. With a missing upper left corner not affecting the image, creases and light soiling, the condition is good.
