Description

A photo of the remains from a fire that consumed the tent at the Los Angeles Auto Show, M.L. Bailey, 1929. The image is from an elevated position and shows some of the tent supports, the remains of the entry, burned vehicles and other exhibit elements from the show and some of the nearby area. The blaze, which occurred on 5 March, came from an electrical circuit in one of the airplane exhibits, and consumed the venue. An electrician and several firefighters suffered injuries, but an estimated 2,500 attendees escaped unharmed. With minor stains on the reverse, warping, fading, soiling and abrasions, the overall condition is good.
