Description
A photograph from Pioneer Yosemite Rock Surfaced Shingles, 15 April 1927. The image shows portions of adjoining Craftsman-style bungalows at 5017 and 5023 Marathon Street at the northwest corner of Western Avenue in the Melrose Hill section of Los Angeles, with the former, on the right, having the shingle product and the latter, at left, gutted from a fire that destroyed the wood shingled roof. Text regards the fire-resistant qualities of the Pioneer product and the number 65874 is at the bottom right corner. With some very small stains and light soiling, the condition is good.
