A photograph of a twisted grape vine, Los Angeles, ca. 1910s. The vine is thick at the trunk and held up by a wooden trellis. It is said that the mother vine was planted in the San Gabriel Mission during the 18th century. A piece of the vine was planted in Downtown Los Angeles many years later. The vine is a hybrid between a native grape speices from California and from Spain. Bunches of grapes and leaves are hanging from the vine. In the background are a wooden table and bench. With minor silvering and moderate fading, loss at the top right corner, the object is in fair condition.
