Description
A photograph of Alpine Tavern, at the terminus of the Mt. Lowe Railway, San Gabriel Mountains, Los Angeles, ca. 1900. A trolley has arrived to the right, filled with passengers. The tavern has three stories, the first constructed with rough stones and the upper two with wood. Several windows look out the front onto the railway tracks. There is a photographer's stamp on the reverse, Hovey Prints, Long Beach. The item is in good condition despite the discoloraiton.
