Description
A photograph of an elderly woman posing at a rural location, ca. 1915. The unknown woman wears a headscarf that is tied under her chin. She wears a long sleeve bodice and a long skirt. She poses with her left hand at her hip and the other hand in her skirt pocket. She looks directly at the camera and smiles. Toward the left, is a portion of a large tree with its branches and leaves hanging over the woman, casting a shadow behind her and a building. Behind the elderly woman is another building, trees and a wooden fence. The overall scene shows a farm or other rural area. While her attire suggests an earlier period in time, the distinctive white border and size could indicate that the snapshot was taken as early as 1915 to 1930. With minor creasing, silvering at the front, top area of the image, the number "17" written on the reverse with a top edge stained with adhesive residue, it is in fair condition.
