A photograph of Dias Doradas, the residence of Thomas Ince, Beverly Hills, ca. 1920s. The view is taken from a large pond looking towards the Spanish Colonial Revival edifice, which includes projecting beams, wrought iron balcony screens, a wooden balcony rail, tile roof, and an expansive yard with a variety of trees, bushes, shrubs and other elements. To the right are a portion of the Santa Monica Mountains and part of a sign with the letters ". . . ACE" showing. A pencil inscription on the reverse reads, "Dias Dorados (Golden Days) / The Ince Home / Beverly Hills." The house, built on thirty acres in Benedict Canyon for the film director who died shortly after a visit aboard William Randolph Hearst's yacht in 1924, was designed by architect Roy Seldon Price, who finished La Casa Nueva and there are elements, like the wood balcony rail, that are identical. With stains on the reverse, soiling, warping, and abrasions, the overall condition is good.
