Description
A photograph of Emilienne standing in the Redwood Forest, California, July 16, 1934. Emilienne appears to stand on an elevated area, possibly a moss-covered fallen log. Her small figure creates a dramatic sense of scale set against the towering redwood trees behind her with the trees casting a dark shadowy canopy above. There are sword ferns and other low-lying vegetation at the foreground as well as a paved road. An inscription written on the reverse side in blue ink shares the location and identifies Emilienne as "Em." Photographer's stamp from Anderson in El Monte with the date and a number of "11" is also found on the back. There is minor warping to the photo but it is in good condition overall.
