A photograph of George M. Martin, ca. 1890. The view shows the man wearing a dark suit, white shirt, dark tie and dark bowler hat and standing in front of what appears to be a wood-sided building with a portion of another man (part of whom looks to have been erased somehow) at the left. Martin, an employee of the Southern California Railway Company, was suspected of embezzlement from the firm and the subject of a hunt before being found and tried, though acquitted, for the crime. With stains, soiling and warping, the condition is good.
