A photograph of a several persons in front of the Dragon Gorge, Santa Monica, Calif.,ca. 1910s. The trio stand in front of the entrance of the Dragon Gorge Scenic attraction which was located on a section of Santa Monica. The 28 acre amusement park contained a roller coaster, auto maze ride, Grotto Cafe and a House of Mystery. The area consisted of several blocks south of Fraser's Pier. The attraction was created in 1911 and burned down the following year. The fire destroyed the pier structures, killing two people and injuring a number of others. It was said that the fire was caused by a carelessly tossed, lit cigarette. The photo is adhered to photo album backing. There is a tear, creasing to the image and discoloration. It is in good condition.
