Description
A photograph of the grave of Los Angeles Police Department officer Walter R. Kreps, Rosedale Cemetery, Los Angeles, 31 March 1916. The image shows floral bouquets on the ground, on an adjacent grave and on easels at the gravesite, which was unmarked until 2014 when the department had a stone placed there for the motorcycle officer, killed in a crash in Highland Park and who was the first such officer to die in the line of duty. Other graves, lawns, and many trees are also in view. At the upper left in ink is “Walter Grave,” while on the reverse is “Rosedale Cemetery / Los Angeles, California / March 28, 1916 (died).” With significant warping, a long tear at the right and soiling, the condition is fair overall.
