Description

A photograph of the La Casa Nueva Courtyard at an elevated view, ca. 1927-1930. The photo was taken from the west patio on the second floor, looking down to the Courtyard and fountain. The photographer's shadow, most likely Thomas Temple's can be seen near the fountain. At the top of the photo there is a portion of the east patio visible, tile over the east portico, wooden beams and the columns. Toward the left are tall banana palms, and shrubbery, and across from that is a curved hedge. The fountain is filled with water and on the first mill stone are pottery jugs, surrounding the fountain and on the pathway above is flagstone. With minor warping and the number "39" written in pencil on the back, it is in good condition.
