Description

A photograph of Thomas Temple riding a horse, Homestead, taken ca. 1920s. Thomas is wearing a charro suit and sombrero. He is on the horse in mid stride. There is a sarape on the horse, behind the saddle. Behind Thomas are two structures on an elevated area, perhaps the changing rooms near the swimming pool. There is a sign on the building on the left "No Swimming." At the bottom of the buildings are plants, bushes and other shrubbery. Thomas and the horse are on a dirt path, one of the driveways at the Homestead. On the reverse is a photographer's stamp "A Kodak Paper" which can indicate that the photo was printed during the 1960-1970s although the image is of Thomas during the 1920s. Other images in the collection show Thomas wearing the same suit and riding the same horse. With minor warping, crease to the top right and bottom corner, the photographer's stamp on the reverse, the letter "B" written in pencil, it is in good condition overall.
