A photograph, "Packing, On trail to Mt. Wilson, Shasta Co., Cal.," Howard C. Tibbits, ca. 1910s. Two men are putting packs on a mule, which has a leather cover over the eyes to protect against insects. At the left on one side of the trail are other packed mules while the dense forest is in the background. The title is written in ink at the bottom of a linen matte, on which the photo is pasted, but the reference to Shasta County is wrong, as Mount Wilson is in Los Angeles County. A stamped number is at the top right, while a crossed out number and one written next to it in pencil are at the bottom right. With minor soiling and wrapping on the linen, the condition is good.
