Description

A portion of a real photo postcard studio photograph of five Latino men, Electric Studio, Los Angeles, 28 September 1913. The black and white image shows a man wearing chaps (perhaps wool?) at the right, with his left hand clasping the left hand on a man at the left and with his right hand raised as if to strike, but another hand, presumably that of the man at the right rear, on it. Two other men stand in the back, one with his right hand on the right shoulder of the man at the left. A message in Spanish on the reverse reads, "I dedicate this little remembrance to my brother Encarnacion Montes" and is signed Jose Montes and dated. As trimmed, with some staining on the reverse, soiling and rubbing, the overall condition is good.
