Description

A PORTION OF THE UNEVEN SIDEWALK SURROUNDING LA CASA NUEVA, CA. AUGUST 1994 Color: Black, white A black and white photograph showing a portion of the uneven sidewalk surrounding La Casa Nueva, August 1994. A portion of the sidewalk running from bottom left to top right, made up of two large rectangular bricks side-by-side, with the spaces between each mortared with concrete. Six of the sidewalk's bricks are seen with three additional bricks partially covered by a mat at far right; the mat, partly rolled back, has the numbers "1 2 5" printed on the bottom. The first six bricks appear uneven, with the three in the forefront raised about an inch or more above ground level; the concrete mortar is also raised, with cracks between each brick. The three back bricks are also uneven, sunk slightly below ground level. Below the sidewalk is a floor made up of different stone sizes and joined together by concrete. The shadows of branches from a nearby tree cover part of the stone floor, the sidewalk, a lawn at top, and a bush at top right. The photograph was taken prior to the sidewalk's repair and widening in the fall of 1994 and is in mint condition. Number-Units: 1
