A portrait of a woman outdoors, Frank G. Schumacher, Los Angeles, ca. 1890s. The woman, wearing a floor-length dark dress with a high collar, white sleeve ends and holding an open umbrella at ground level, sits on a plain bench next to a tree. In the distance is a dwelling and other portions of the landscape. What appear to be sycamore leaves carpet the ground, suggesting a winter photograph. With light fading, some light soiling, edge rubbing and abrasions and a few chipped areas on the matte, the overall condition is good.
