Description
A portrait of banjo player Leonard D. Burford, ca. 1900s. The nearly full-length portrai shows Burford in formal evening dress and holding the peghead of a banjo in his left hand with the drum head resting on the seat of a chair. On the reverse is a dedication from Burford, who taught music in Los Angeles and Monrovia but was also a barber. With significant corner wear to the matte and the photo scratched and soiled, the condition is fair.
