Description

A postcard in color "Lookout Mountain Inn, Summit Lookout Mountain," published by Souvenir Publishing Company, Los Angeles and San Francisco, ca. 1910s. The image is taken from a nearby peak in the Santa Monica Mountains and looks towards the inn below and to the right off a winding dirt road. The structure, situated near Laurel Canyon above West Hollywood, has two-story wings and a central tower and is surmounted by an American flag. There are undeveloped portions of the valley below where Hollywood and nearby areas are now, while Los Angeles is off to the left in the distance. The inn's Los Angeles office address and phone and a quote from a Los Angeles Times editorial are below the title at the top. On the reverse is information on Pacific Electric Railway trolley trips, though not to the Inn. With edge abrasions, minor soiling and a major crease just left of center, the condition is fair overall.
