Description
A postcard of an architectural drawing of the house of Mrs. F.H.D. Banks, South Pasadena, ca.1920s. The image is of a substantial two-story Georgian Revival residence with a wing on the left and an open portico on the right. At the bottom right is the name of the owner and architects Marston and Van Pelt. Francis Howard Dean Banks was a Philadelphia cement magnate who retired to South Pasadena and married local Henrietta Dobbins, who was widowed by 1920 with two young children. It is believed the house survives at the corner of Monterey Road and Chelten Way. With soiling, stains at the lower left corner and reverse, and abrasions, the condition is fair.
