Description
A postcard portrait of Princess Mona Darkfeather, Kraus Manufacturing Company, New York, copyright 1912. The image shows the actress in her Indian costume with her body turned to the right and her face turned left. Her birth name was Josephine Workman. Workman was a silent film actress during the 1910s. Her parents were Jospeh and Josephine Workman and her paternal grandparents were William Workman and Nicolasa Uriosted de Workman, who lived on a portion of the vast Rancho La Puente they co-owned with John Rowland, a family friend and former business partner of William. At the bottom is her stage name, copyright date, and affiliation with Universal Players. The unused card was cut at the right edge, so part of the "Universal Players" name was trimmed. With creases, soiling and abrasions, the overall condition is fair.
