Description

A postcard, “Rosecrans Pioneer Homestead, Rosecrans Ave., Los Angeles, California. Built 1873—Rebuilt 1895,” postmarked 28 September 1926. The image shows the single story, L-shaped residence of former Union Army General William S. Rosecrans amid lawns, trees, a driveway and other landscape on his ranch southwest of Los Angeles. Printed on the reverse is information about the Princess Hotel in Atlantic City, owned by his son, Paul, with card sent from there after a library convention. With small stains, browning, soiling and edge rubbing, the condition is good.
