Description

A postcard with a black stereotyped caricature of a railroad porter, Los Angeles, dated 1 April 1913. The front of the card has a print of the Western Hemisphere of the globe and the name "Los Angeles" in large red letters over it. Above and below this are the words, "Tell the Porter to Put You off at / Now Don't Forget." At right is an image of a train passenger peeking from behind a sleeping berth curtain and the porter holding a whisk broom with a suitcase at his feet. A message on the reverse is addressed to a woman in Los Angeles. The card has some light soiling and rubbing and is in good condition.
