A postcard with Dutch stereotypes, Los AngelesEntry/Object ID
2012.110.1.1Description
A postcard with Dutch stereotypes, Los Angeles, ca. 1910. The card has an image of a dwarfish Dutch man with clogs, patched trousers, a green shirt and a cap. The wording is "Meet Me Mit Your Shmiling Front In Los Angeles Undt I Vill Be Choyful," with the city name within a blue pennant. Inscribed in ink is a date, the location of East Lake Park, and a name, presumably an invitation for a function. There is no message, just an address and a postage stamp along with a 1-cent due stamp. With some soiling, creases, and edge rubbing, the condition is good overall.
