Description
A press photo of a device, visual aid for the hearing impaired, Los Angeles, 24 December 1929. Depicted are Dr. Milton Metfessel and Mrs. Frank E. Davie demonstrating the device that projected rays of light onto a rotating screen after a person spoke into the machine. The demonstration was held by the California Association of Teachers of Deafened Adults, University of Southern California. Metfessel and Davie are sitting at a table with the device on top. Davie is speaking into the microphone while Metfessel monitors the switches. The photograph includes a typed description on the reverse. It is in good condition despite the minor warping and discoloration.
