Description
A press photo of actor Antonio Moreno and his wife Daisy Canfield Danziger in the yard of their Silver Lake mansion Crestmount, 1926. The image shows the couple seated on an ornate stone bench with a portion of the large home in the background. Sections of lawn, shrubs and other landscape are also in view. On the back is a pasted-down caption, two stamps from Culver Pictures, Inc. and two recent bar code labels. The reference to Moreno's latest film dates the photo at 1926. The home was built by Mrs. Moreno on land inherited from her father, oil magnate and partner of Edward Doheny, Charles Canfield, and completed when she married Moreno in 1923. The couple lived in the home until their marraige ended in the early 1930s. Daisy Moreno died in a 1933 car accident and Moreno sold the home to a Catholic religious order. Today, it is a private residence and recording studio. With a missing piece of the left margin not disturbing the image, a piece of the lower right corner gone, some creases and possible liquid damage at the bottom and top, the overall condition is good.
