Description

A press photo of Patrick Grogan, Los Angeles, 27 June 1925. The eighteen year old boy has his eyes downcast, wearing a suit and striped bow tie. The reverse provides a typed description: Patrick, heir to a million dollar fortune, was the son of Grace Young and Patrick "Ripe Olive" Grogan in the olive oil industry. Grace Young was murdered by her second husband, Dr. Thomas W. Young, a dentist, and Patrick unknowingly mixed the cement that Young poured over the cistern with Grace Young's body at their Beverly Glen residence. The description on the reverse is yellowing and mildly brittle from the adhesive. With minor discoloration and warping, the object is in good condition.
