Description
A press photo of the Los Angeles County jail, 16 December 1922. A view of the entire elevation of the three story building. The building is composed of rough hewn stone blocks on the ground floor, becoming more refined towards the top. There are several automobiles and a horse drawn cart in the street outside. Based on the typed description on the reverse, the image depicts the reinforcement of the building after a convicted murderer had escaped. The photograph is in good condition with minor surface soiling and loss at bottom right corner as well as possible silverfish damage.
