Description
A press photo of the Western Air Express hangar at Alhambra Airport, Wide World Photos, 3 August 1929. The view is of the hexagonal structure with a larger plane parked in front of one of its doors and two smaller craft nearby, as are some automobiles. A clipping on the reverse noted that the hangar was the largest in the world and could service six large Fokker airplanes at a time. The airport was at Pomona Boulevard (later Valley Boulevard) at the southwest corner of New Avenue and extending west to Almansor Street in the southeast corner of the city. The overall condition is good.
