Description
A press photo of opening day of the National Air Races, Mines Field, Los Angeles, 1928. A wide angle shot of the air field and the side lines where a marching band has gathered along with press, photographers and other bystanders. There are three planes flying over the field. One monoplane is flying in front, releasing a smoke screen. The photograph has a pencil inscription on the reverse with an inked stamp. The image is in good condition with minor creasing, minor loss at top left edge, adhered description on the reverse exhibits acidic paper content and is brittle at the edge.
