Description

A press photograph of Edward L. Doheny, Sr. Los Angeles, 7 July 1924. Doheny (1856-1935) is pictured in a suit and glasses with graying hair and a neatly trimmed moustache. Doheny amassed a fortune in the oil business and built the Greystone Mansion. He was accused though later acquitted of bribery during a scandal known as the Teapot Dome scandal. His son, Edward Doheny, Jr. was murdered in 1929 in their mansion. With moderate warping, writing in pencil, and accretion, the object is in good condition overall.
