Description
A press photograph of Los Angeles city council member Carl Jacobson in court, 23 August 1927. Jacobson, who was a vice crusader on the council, was lured to a woman's home and caught in her arms by arriving police officers. The photo shows him appearing in court with two other men, presumably his counsel. A pasted-down typed caption noted that he was "was trapped in an alleged love nest with Mrs. Callie Grimes, also known as Mrs. Helen Ferguson." It was later learned the situation was a set-up and Jacobson was acquitted ona morals charge. With pencil markings, stamps, creases, some stains, edge abrasions, mirroring, and a small missing piece of a corner, the overall condition is fair.
