A press photograph of Mary Foy, Los Angeles, dated 19 January 1920. The image shows Foy in a head-and-upper torso shot and she has her white hair pulled back and wears a white dress with a rose corsage. Foy was the first female chief librarian for the Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL) in 1880, however, she was asked to resign fours year later. An inscription identified her on the reverse in a pencil inscription as being part of the "Democratic Nat'l Comm From Cal." and there are other inscriptions and stamps. She was also involved in the Suffragette movement. With soe soiling and rubbing, the overall condition is good.
