Description

A press photograph of the 10,000th job placement of the Soldiers' and Sailors' Replacement Bureau, Los Angeles, 21 November 1923. The view shows two soliders in uniform with a man in a suit near a desk staffed by a woman and a man outside a building. A pasted-down caption on the reverse noted that the milestone was for a lieutenant who received a job as a horiculturist on the Lucky Baldwin ranch at Arcadia. It also noted that the placement was from the entity, launched by the city chamber of commerce, that started its work in January 1919. There are stamps and pencil inscriptions on the reverse, as well. With a loss at the lower left corner, tears, creases and soiling, the condition is fair.
