Description

A press photograph of the Round House Cafe, Los Angeles, 20 June 1928. The distinctive brick structure, shaped like a rail yard round house, has the front end of a locomotive emerging from it at center, a railroad crossing sign at left, and a signal flag on the roof at the right. Peering through the entrance is Rex DeBarr, the owner of the restaurant which was at 250 N. Virgil Avenue. A pencil inscription on the reverse reads, "Rex DeBarr, cafe proprietor, / and (above) his Round House / Cafe." With other markings and a date stamp, as well as missing sections at the bottom and top right, major creasing, a hole at the top left, and soiling, the condition is fair.
