Description

A program for a concert held at the Orpheus Club, Los Angeles, 1908. The evening's musical selections, composers' names and the names of the performers are included. The club was founded in 1905 by Joseph Dupuy for amateur singers in a choir to perform concert works from memory. In 1939, the Orpheus merged with an earlier amateur singing club, the Ellis (items from which are in the museum collection). In recent years, the club was headquartered in Lomita and Torrance, though may not be active. The overall condition is fair.
