Description
A program for the fifty-sixth annual banquet of the Historical Society of Southern California, Los Angeles, 1 November 1939. The item has the main program (a) with a list of officers and directors; past presidents; a roster of charter officers and members in 1884; an essay on the founding of the Society by Noah Levering; the banquet program, including a role for Thomas W. Temple II; sponsored tables and committee members; and patrons and patronesses. An insert (b) is a membership brochure with an essay on the Society, list of officers and directors, and an application blank. A second insert (c) is a list of the anniversary membership commiuttee. The program has some edge tears, a vertical fold, pest damage, stains and soiling and is in fair condition, while the inserts have vertical folds and some light soiling and are in good condition.
