Description
A program for the first annual ball of The Masquers, Los Angeles, 17 October 1925. The item presents the list of performances by members of the actors' club, modeled on that of the Lambs Club in New York, for its first event to raise funds for a theater that was never built. This was, however, moved a week later and to a new venue, the Philharmonic Auditorium in downtown Los Angeles, instead of the Hollywood High School Auditorium because of controversy over the appearance of Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, whose career was ruined because of a prior scandal. The club is still in existence. With creases, edge rubbing and soiling to the wrappers and clean pages, the overall condition is good.
