Description

A prospectus for a bond issue for the Edwards and Wildey Building and Annex, Los Angeles, issued by S. W. Straus and Company, Chicago and New York, 15 October 1925. The item describes the first mortgage leasehold serial bonds being sold to finance the project; provides a summary of the bond issue; describes the security under the mortgage; indicates guarantee of completion; notes valuation and earnings; describes the location and demand; lays out the amoritzation schedule; and describes the namesake borrowers. On the back page is a statement of the integrity of the Straus firm. The main height-limit (11 stories) structure was completed 1 June 1925 at the southwest corner of Sixth and Grand and an annex was to be built with funds from the bonds on an adjacent lot with a two-story structure there. With horizontal folds, some small stains, soiling and creases, the overall condition is good.
