Description
A real photo postcard, "Burroing to Switzer-Land," 9 April 1925. The image shows a burro team carrying crates and bags and with a horse-back rider in between the teams on a mountain side trail leading to the Switzer-Land resort in the San Gabriel Mountains. To the upper right is the wide canyon in which the resort, first named Switzer's Camp and then Camp Losadena until Switzer-land was introduced in 1911, was located. On the reverse of the postally unused card is an ink inscription, "Here's the way we went to 'Switzer's.' Part of the way with the Pack train which goes twice each day. 4 mi to Camp. 4/9/25." With light browning, minor soiling and little edge rubbing, the condition is good overall.
