Description
A real photo postcard, "Japanese gardens, Bernheimer House," ca. 1929. The view shows the several structures, ponds, a curved bridge and plantings in the Japanese-style compound in Hollywood. The estate, completed for the Bernheimer brothers in 1914 and which housed their extensive collection of Asian objects, is now the Yamashiro restaurant. A message on the reverse is in Spanish. With soiling, staining and edge abrasions, the overall condition is good.
