Description
A real photo postcard, "Japanese Gardens, Hollywood, Cal," postmarked 15 March 1929. The view shows the main residence and hillside landscaping of the Bernheimer estate overlooking houses below and framed by higher sections of the Santa Monica Mountains above. The estate, completed for the Bernheimer brothers in 1914 and which housed their extensive collection of Asian objects, is now the Yamashiro restaurant. A message on the reverse is in Spanish. With some soiling and edge rubbing, the overall condition is good.
