Description
A real photo postcard, "New Arrivals" at a Los Angeles-area hotel or boarding house, postmarked 17 August 1911. The image shows a large two-story structure with large Greek Revival columns, wood siding, a cupola or tower and a wrap-around porch. On or near the latter are a man, two women and a dog posed. Under a projecting porch at the left is an automobile with a person behind the wheel. Presumably this group constitutes the "new arrivals." On the reverse is a message in what appears to be a Scandanavian language with the address to Sierra Madre. With bleeding to the front of part of the cancellation stamp, soiling and edge rubbing, the condition is fair.
