Description
A real photo postcard, "No.1517 La Canada Valley," 10 July 1909. The panoramic view is taken from the lower slopes of the San Gabriel Mountains and scans west toward La Crescenta showing the gradual declination of the alluvial plain, on which are farms, a few roads and some dwellings. More of the bottom of the mountainside is at the right, while a portion of the Verdugo Mountains is in the distance at the upper left. The caption is at the bottom. On the reverse is a short message giving instructions to a "Casa Esmeralda" to a Los Angeles recipient. With some soiling and edge abrasion, minor mirroring on the bottom right corner, the condition is good.
