Description
A real photo postcard of a ceremony honoring Charles Lindbergh, Los Angeles Coliseum, September 1927. Taken from the packed stands of the massive stadium, the view shows an area at the center of the field with bands, persons in chairs and a speaker system where the ceremony took place honoring the aviator for his trans-Atlantic solo flight. In ink on the reverse is "Lindbergh in L.A. after Atlantic Hop 1931." While Lindbergh and his wife flew from New York to China via Canada and Alaska in the last half of 1931, they did not visit Los Angeles. This photo is clearly of the earlier ceremony for the 1927 flight. With minimal soiling, discoloration, and rubbing, the condition is good.
