Description

A real photo postcard of a house at 353 Hoover Street, Los Angeles, postmarked 21 December 1906. The view shows a small boy on the porch of the dak-colored Craftsman-style house, which has a nameplate reading "Tennis E. Imes" on it. A lawn, sidewalk and some small bushes are among the landscaping. A message sends Christmas and New Year's greetings to a recipient in San Bernardino from "Tennis and Ethel." Tennis and Ethel Imes were musicians with Tennis later running a commercial printing business. The recipient was married to Ethel's brother and the child on the porch is likely Dale Imes, born in 1902. With soiling, postmark bleeding, rubbing and dented corners, the overall condition is fair.
